This classic beauty, Weeping Willow Tree, has been around for ages and is guaranteed to add a graceful touch to your landscape with its long slender leaves. The light green drooping branches and timeless appearance of the Weeping Willow is known by all.

The Willow tree is known for its graceful and refined qualities, easily recognized by its open crown of ground-sweeping branches. Willow’s light green leaves appear above and a more grayish green beneath. They shine golden yellow in the sunlight. The green leaves will fall to the ground in late fall or winter.

This fast growing willow grows especially well near water and is one of the with a growth rate of 8-10 feet a year. It can grow quickly to reach its mature height of 30 to 40 feet tall and 35 feet wide during a few growing seasons. Weeping Willow Tree Care

If you are not in an area with lots of water, be sure to water thoroughly the first year of planting to establish a strong root system. The shallow roots of the large tree are short lived and need lots of water to survive. The biggest cause of a small weeping tree plant dying is the lack of water the first year planted.

The Weeping Willow plant prefers moist soil types that are well draining and does best in full sun to partial shade. Applying a  yearly at the top of the root ball will help with pests and diseases such as crown gall, gypsy moths, willow scab, and black canker. Generally, the tree grows beautifully without pests and tree diseases depending on location.
